Community Portal (Viacom)

One hub, five games, thousands of new subscribers.

  • MTV Studios had several live titles, but traffic was concentrated on the most popular ones. Smaller games couldn't compete for attention on their own, and the studio needed a cost-effective way to move players across its ecosystem.

  • I led the design and launch of a unified community portal that connected all five titles — surfacing in-game news, forum updates, and social content from each in one place. I worked closely with an external design team from the start, making sure our requirements were realistic before any work began. That early alignment meant we hit a tight deadline with no major delays and room to adapt when problems came up.

  • Within weeks of launch, the portal was redirecting meaningful traffic from the studio's biggest titles to its lesser-known ones. Subscriber counts, engagement, and retention improved across all five games.
